Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

Jim Hawkins, who narrates Stevenson's classic tale, is rewarded for his assistance to an old pirate, Billy Bones, with a map showing the way to buried treasure. He and his associates set sail for the island on a ship manned by a band of pirates--a fact they discover en route. The pirate king is the notorious one-legged cook Long John Silver, one of Stevenson's most delightfully conceived villains. The pirates are vanquished, the treasure is retrieved, and Stevenson's novel is widely loved, and admired as one of the great adventure novels of all time.

How long does this take to read for an average-speed reader? With all of missing letters and what not...

We certainly know what you mean when you say "like a tree grows in Brooklyn" slowly--ha! Good pun!

After the first section of the book, there's nothing but action all the way. Two thumbs up..

It was sort of a long read. It got boring sometimes, and I fell asleep a lot when reading it. Sometimes I would have to reread a whole chapter.

I liked this book because it had adventure and a little sense of mystery. I am glad I read it.

I thought that this was an interesting book; I couldn't get into it, though. Nevertheless, the story was nice, and it was well-written. It was quite violent and filled with action, but it was still very boring.

I liked the book it was realy good. I do reccomend it if you're into pirates and mystery. I did think the plot slowly, and i mean slowly, but at the middle it did unfold and it was great.

but, I still didn't like it. The plot was a little weird and I think it kind of solved the problems too quickly
