Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes

Set in Boston on the brink of the American Revolution, this historical novel tells of observant 14-year-old silversmith apprentice Johnny Tremain, who, due to a bad burn on his hand, must give up silversmithing. Noticing the unrest in the city, Johnny becomes a dispatch rider for the Committee of Public Safety and is soon caught up in the thrilling undercurrents and rumblings which led to the Boston Tea Party and ultimately to the Battle of Lexington and the start of the Revolutionary War. Winner of the 1944 Newbery Medal.

I didn't really like it. It's just kind of slow and boring to me.

All I can say is boring at the begging but ends up being great later on.

The book is extremley boring at the beginning but then it gets a little interesting but still really boring. Some parts do get exciting but then it goes back to boring but it is an okay book. I would reccomend if you like Boston Tea Party times.

Good comparison to the Revolutionary War. Tedious and boring to start with... but I digress. It picks up speed, and then comes to a SMASHING conclusion. Good book.

Well I have to say that it's boring at first but then it gets really good after you hit page 20.

Sort of hard to get into at first, but really good. I don't even like Revolutionary War stuff, but I liked Johnny Tremain, so if you love Revolutionary War, it'll be great for you.

This book, so far, is astonishing. It revokes images of England way back when. Although it starts out so very dull, Page 20 releases the excitement.

This book is extremely boring at the beggining but then it starts getting more exciting. Its another one of those books that gets exciting then gets boring over and over again. But still a pretty good book.

I finished it. Johnny Tremain is a slower book than I remembered; although I liked a bit of it.
