At first I thought that this book would be about the hardships of some people in Vietnam, not in America or Cambodia. The ending of this book caught me completely off guard, and I remember thinking "Where did Linda Crew get this idea?!"

This book was my least favorite so far. I think that the base of the story is okay, but I didn't really like the love part of it.
