The protagonist in this book is a very angry teen girl. Her parents have both died. She is remanded into the custody of her biological father--a man whom she has never met.


This is a book you'll need to check out from the public library or at your high school--it is not in our library.

The Memory Book by Penelope J. Stokes Phoebe is lost in her life.  She has just finished an advanced college degree and doesn't know what to do next.  She returns home to rural Georgia and her grandmother's home--where she grew up.  Phoebe dream travels and finds family secrets which she hopes learning about will allow her to let those closest to her--best friends and fiance'--truly into her life.  This isn't my favorite type of book, but I was able to finish it and found it interesting. The Return of Skeleton Man by Joseph Bruchac

I enjoy a sequel to a good book! The protagonist in this story thinks sequels are lame, but has to write it because her monster DOES come back. Bruchac is great at weaving Native American stories and history into his narration. The book is set in a real, historic place.
