You know the story--boy gets turned into a beast until someone falls in love with him.  That girl is Beauty and she is tired of not living up to her name. She is a very smart girl who is trying to make a little money for her family.  Her father, a book seller, has run into bad fortune.  Her sister tries but she's really only interested in having pretty dresses and getting married.  The beast's family is cursed.  He is a terrifying beast, and his family has been made invisible.  They must work together to help the Beast find love before time is up and they remain cursed forever.

Rapunzel was stolen from home on her 12th birthday by an evil witch and kept in a high tower.  This book is told in two perspectives by Benjamin and Rapunzel.  Benjamin is destined to be king one day, but he feels trapped by all his obligations.  Benjamin doesn't seem like a very likely hero, but he, along with his cousin, is the one to go after Rapunzel.  However, Rapunzel is not a pitiful little princess who needs saved...



Sleeping Beauty : the One Who Took the Really Long Nap
Click for more information on this titlePrincess Rose is asleep in an enchanted castle and has been for a hundred years.  Everything is readywhen she wakes up, including her best friend being with her. 
Rose tells how it all happened, including the evil fairy, in flashbacks and dream sequences.  Her castle is enchanted and hidden.  Who's going to help her get out? 
The other side of the story is told by The Prince, yes Prince is his name.  He lives in a castle near the enchanted castle.  He dreams of Rose and goes to look for her.  He has to find her, wake her up, and bring her home to his family--which includes an unpredictable half ogre mother. 

I liked all three of these books.  They are entertaining, funny, and have a good story line that incorporates the fairy tale story.  I think Beauty and the Beast was my favorite of the three books.
